Update: Sprint has pulled the press release, and the launch of the phone has been aparrently put on hold. Thanks to 640k for pointing out Sprint pulled the press release.
Reason why we wanted to wait 24 hours with CTIA coverage…
At the start of CTIA, Sprint issued a press release saying that the Nokia 6225 was immediately available. Problem was, you just couldn’t order it. No online order page, none in-stock in TeleSales, and nowhere to be found in stores.
Fast forward 36 hours later, and it’s pretty much the same. Some TeleSales reps are taking orders, but we are pretty sure they are taking paper orders (something we recommend you check is not being done, as paper orders can cause more frustration than anything else). In other words, the phone may be out tomorrow, it may be out right now, but we know for sure Sprint made a press release for something that they couldn’t provide just to get some added publicity. Is anyone surprised? We doubt it.
