Motorola has announced the second generation of its LapDock accessory for its Atrix 2 4G and related Atrix variants in the Bionic and Photon 4G.
The new LapDock 100 features a smaller 10-inch display and revised dock connector along with a new keyboard that includes Android specific keys. Like the previous LapDock, the accessory will allow the use of the desktop version of Mozilla Firefox and Flash along with new additions to its software build, such as QuickOffice, Google Docs and a built-in File Manager with wireless printing support via MOTOPRINT. In a bid to make the new LapDock more useful, the new version also includes a built-in Wi-Fi N radio in order to use it more effectively without relying on the phone’s data connection.
The new LapDock will first be made available via AT&T on October 17th, with launches via Verizon and Sprint expected later this year. While first appearing in AT&T stores, the new LapDock will be compatible with all Webtop-enabled devices from release.
i can’t find any other source confirming the built in Wifi N Radio. If true, then I wonder if both the Phones Wifi will work in conjunction with the laptop one for a stronger signal to grab.
