Cricket has announced that it has signed a landmark voice and SMS roaming agreement with Sprint. Under the terms of the new roaming agreement, Cricket customers will be able to roam across the country and subsequent coverage has expanded to 270 million people from its prior coverage area of 195 million. The roaming agreement does not include data access and service/devices will continue to be sold only in areas with native Cricket coverage.
Cricket has also realigned its service plans to match its new expanded coverage beginning at $30 per month for basic unlimited calling across the new roaming coverage area. At $40 per month, voicemail, call forwarding, nationwide SMS/MMS messaging and mobile web are included. For $50 per month all of the aforementioned features are included along with mobile email, international texting, data back-up and navigation while at $60 per month, unlimited mobile video and other mobile entertainment is included.
Unlimited texting to Mexico is also available as an add-on for $15 per month.
It is amazing how competitive the carriers are getting. I am very happy with my Net10 Prepaid phone. I have a choice of $15 150minute, $30 300 minutes or $40 400 minutes. Its really nice to be able to choose what I need on a monthly basis. Its no surprise they all competing.. good prices are the key and it so nice to be getting good value for money. Net10 has calls for 10c a minute and 5c text which makes the packages so usable. I wonder who will be next to restructure their package… 🙂 good prices for us.
