Consumer Cellular has announced increases in its voice minutes and messaging/data allotments for both current and new customers starting today. Below, the new rates:
- $20 Plan – 600 minutes
- $30 Plan – 1200 minutes
- $40 Plan – 2500 minutes
- $50 Plan – 4000 minutes
- $60 Plan – 6000 minutes
Messaging and data add-ons get the following increases:
- $2.50 add-on – 200 text/MMS messages with 20MB data
- $5 add-on – 1000 text/MMS messages with 100MB data
- $10 add-on – 2000 text/MMS messages with 300MB data
- $20 add-on – 5000 text/MMS messages with 1 GB data
- $30 add-on – 15,000 text/MMS messages with 2.5GB data
Consumer Cellular is mainly targeted to seniors and the increases are sure to make the offering more compelling to others, especially as the increased allotments make it easier to measure what average usage will be for potential customers. The company still retains its $10 casual plan and $15 200 minute plan, but the increased allotments are aimed at providing a more compelling option for light to moderate wireless service users.
