Shortly after the launch of the Clear iSpot last week, the hotspot intended for use with Apple’s line of iDevices has been fully rooted to allow for access by any device with the $25 plan in place as well as opening up full configuration options to disable automatic firmware updates and enabling custom firmware installation among other yet to be documented features.
The instructions linked do require a familiarity with terminal use and FTP, although there are simpler methods available at the above link to achieve the same modifications as well.
