Cingular today announced the business customer branding for their combined UMTS HSDPA network. BroadbandConnect will encompass all HSDPA and UMTS offerings to business customers, and will launch with Cingular’s existing data plan packages. The Sierra AC860 and Novatel 720 are the only two devices Cingular is offering, despite AT&T Wireless’ offerings of UMTS phones at their launch.
PCS Intel was the first organization to confirm Cingular would be launching BroadbandConnect without HSDPA available at-launch, and the first organization to confirm 1900 MHz UMTS would be the focus for the initial network.
