Cingular Wireless today officially launched the Cingular 8525. The 8525 is identical to the released HTC TyTN (Hermes), except that it lacks a front-facing camera (and thus, video calling).
We previously reported that the device supports PTT, however, Cingular has temporarily disabled the feature. Cingular says it will be enabled in a software update once the PTT software for the 8525 is finalized.
The nation’s first UMTS/HSDPA Windows Mobile device will be available in-stores on November 16 for $399.99 after rebate with new two-year agreement. Cingular has established a web site that will be available shortly for detailed information on the device.
