Blu Products Announces Life Pure Mini Android Smartphone

BLU Life Pure Mini wideMiami-based smartphone distributor Blu Products has announced its latest smartphone in its newly christened Life Pure series in the downscaled Life Pure Mini. The Life Pure Mini is a smaller version of its Life Pure flagship Android smartphone with the following specifications:

  • Network: 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps) 850/1900 or 850/2100, Single Micro-SIM card
  • Display: 4.5 inch HD 720 x 1280, with LED Backlit, IPS with OGS, Scratch Resistant Touch Panel
  • Processor: MediaTek MT6589T Quad-Core 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 with PowerVR SGX544 GPU
  • OS: Android v4.2 Jelly Bean (Future update to KitKat expected in Q2)
  • Camera: Rear – 8.0 megapixel, BSI Sensor, autofocus with LED Flash, Video Record 1080p @ 30fps Front – 2.0 megapixel
  • Connectivity: WiFi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, Hotspot, micro-USB, FM Radio
  • Memory: 16GB internal memory, 1GB RAM, no expandable memory slot
  • Dimensions: 130 x 64.4 x 8.9mm, 149 grams
  • Battery: Non-removable Li-Ion 3,000mAh
  • Noise cancelling microphone and stereo recording features
  • Smart Dial, Smart Answer, Alarm Pause, Gesture Answer, Picture Air Browse, and Video Smart Pause controls

The key takeaway from the Life Pure Mini is the large fixed battery and the low cost, as the phone will be priced at $249 unlocked while being made available from key online retailers, such as Amazon in the next few weeks and serves as an alternative option to more expensive Android smartphones.
