The Bitpim Project, known for allowing Verizon phones to upload unsigned content to their phones via data cable (something Sprint users take for granted), says that they will soon add support for at least the Sanyo 4900 and 8100.
What this means is that you will be able to upload files directly to the phone from a PC (or Mac) without the need for sending the file over Vision. In addition, it will allow for the uploading of content that may error out when sent over-the-air. Hopefully it will also allow the downloading of images from the Sanyo 8100 without the need for Picture Mail as well…
