Customers in these areas are being sent letters notifying them of the
decrease in coverage leading to a total shutdown, and being offered
options to migrate to the newer GSM network, with most options
including a free phone for customers that choose to stay with
AT&T.
What is known is that AT&T will allow these
customers to carry over their added features to the GSM network, but rate plans will not carry over, and those customers on TDMA goPhone/KIIC service will be sent vouchers for a new GSM phone, with a maximum balance cap of $250 that can be carried over.
Those customers that choose not to continue will be allowed to leave without an ETF if the
customer was still under a service agreement.
