Following up, AT&T has also announced pricing details for the LG Thrill 3D Android smartphone, which will be available on August 7th according to internal Radio Shack documentation and be available via AT&T for $99.99 with sales through Radio Shack set at $79.99 after new 2 year agreement.
The LG Thrill 3D is AT&T’s version of the LG Optimus 3D and features Android 2.2, dual-core processor, a 4.3 inch 800×480 display, dual 5.0 megapixel cameras with 720p 3D video capture and 1080p 2D video capture.
The Thrill is AT&T’s first 3D-enabled phone, and follows LG’s trend for launching different display form factors on AT&T first. The manufacturer launched the LG Expo, a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone with a built-in pico projector, first on AT&T.
Thrill is poised to primarily compete with the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint, as they will likely be the only two 3D-enabled phones through the rest of 2011. 3D remains a speculative play in mobile phones, Android is the only smartphone operating system to provide preliminary support for 3D display.
