AT&T has launched the Motorola Z9 3G slider with support for GPS and AT&T Navigator, formerly known as TeleNav Navigator.
The high-end slider features a QVGA display, quadband GSM/EDGE and dualband W-CDMA support with HSDPA packet data, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, media player, microSD expansion slot, media player, email client, support for Cellular Video, Opera Mobile web browser, voice recognition, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, and speakerphone.
It is important to note that the Z9 marks the beginning of aGPS network assissted GPS services after years of speculation on whether or not Cingular (now the current AT&T) would deploy aGPS after acquiring the W-CDMA network and infrastructure from the former AT&T Wireless, which did have active aGPS services as a part of its W-CDMA deployment before being shut down as part of the acquisition by the former Cingular Wireless.
The phone is now available from AT&T online for $199.99 after new 2 year agreement, before an additional $50 instant discount bringing the total to $149.99.
