AT&T has announced a new protective case for Apple iPad owners with Wi-Fi models that want to add LTE connectivity, with the bonus of additional storage expansion capability. The case includes a large battery that provides for up to 10 hours of continuous use on 4G LTE and provides additional storage through a microSD memory card slot and a companion management app. The case will first be made available for the iPad Mini, Mini 2, and Mini 3, followed by the iPad Air and Air 2. AT&T did not reveal pricing and launch details for the case other than to confirm that the case was eligible for activation as a companion mobile broadband device on a Mobile Share plan, with specific pricing yet to be confirmed.
