Following the official announcement for the HTC One Mini a few weeks back and the recent leak of an AT&T branded press render following shortly after, AT&T has followed up this morning’s Galaxy Mega announcement with the confirmation of the launch of the HTC One Mini slated for the end of this week for $99.99 after new 2-year agreement.
As previously reported, the HTC One Mini is the first variant of the HTC One flagship Android smartphone for the struggling manufacturer, the phone is slightly different to the original One flagship with 16GB of storage built in and a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 series processor with 1GB of RAM.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA support, and GPS underpinned by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the same version of Sense 5 and Blinkfeed found on the One with the same front-facing stereo BoomSound speakers, the only difference being a slightly lower resolution 1.6 megapixel front facing camera with 720p video capture.
The One Mini is also scaled down to a more manageable 4.3 inch 720p resolution display while still retaining the sealed aluminum bodyshell at the expense of a smaller 1800mAh battery, polycarbonate edges and the exclusion of the optical image stabilization assembly for its UltraPixel camera assembly along with the exclusion of NFC support.
