Apple has announced that it will hold an event on March 17th for press and developers concerning the forthcoming 3.0 update to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Since the update is a milestone update, not much is currently known about the contents or the new functionality expected in the new software version, but more details will be revealed on the day of the event.
