In a post on the Android Developers Blog, Eric Chu has outlined the specifics for aspiring developers looking to develop applications for the Android platform as well as announcing general availability of the service beginning today.
The service will start accepting applications next Monday, October 27 and anyone interested in submitting applications will have to register at the Android Marketplace page and pay a nominal $25 registration fee to ensure responsibility for all applications submitted and listing.Â
Beginning in 2009, the Android Marketplace will also support the sale of applications for profit, with 70% of gross profit going to the developer and 30% going to the carriers, while Google will not be taking any percentage.
