New images and video have leaked purporting to be a beta build of Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) as installed on a Samsung Nexus S.
As can be seen from the images, the user interface takes elements from Gingerbread and Honeycomb while combining them into a slightly updated interface. Ice Cream Sandwich as a whole will be the next major Android operating system release which is meant to bridge the mobile phone and tablet Android builds together in order to address the rampant fragmentation problem that has become endemic to the platform as a whole.
Samsung and Google are scheduled to hold a press event on October 11th in order to officially announce the Samsung Nexus Prime as the next flagship Android device, which will also herald the official release of Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
