As expected and rumored for many months, Amazon has officially launched its own app store for Android in the US. The store has opened up with 3800 applications and Amazon’s recommendation engine. Key features of the Amazon App Store for Android also include timed demos of any application before purchase on the desktop, one-click purchase of apps and a free paid app of the day to drive awareness, beginning with the exclusive Angry Birds: Rio game.
