Sprint has officially launched one of the most highly awaited BlackBerry devices in the Tour, an unexpected color variant in the Inferno Curve, and the LG LX290 entry-level slider.
The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is functionally identical to prior models with EVDO, QWERTY keyboard, speakerphone, media player, HTML browser, Bluetooth, microSD expansion slot, MMS support, and QVGA display with the only change being an uncharacteristically loud orange color called Inferno by Sprint.
The LG LX290 features a QVGA resolution display, Sprint One Click user interface, Sprint Mobile Email Work and Mobile Email Work Calendar support, Bluetooth, speaker-independent voice dialing/voice control, GPS support and speakerphone.
The BlackBerry Tour features a tri-mode CDMA EVDO Rev. A/quadband GSM/EDGE/single-band HSPA radio, HVGA landscape display, GPS transceiver with A-GPS support, Bluetooth, Qualcomm chipset with 256 MB of RAM and 192 MB of ROM running at 528 MHz, speakerphone, microSDHC expansion slot and 3.2 megapixel camera with video recorder, auto focus and flash.
The LG LX290 is available for $79.99 after new 2 year agreement before an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $29.99. The BlackBerry Curve is available for $149.99 after new 2 year agreement before an additional $100 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $49.99 and the BlackBerry Tour is now available for $299.99 after new 2 year agreement before an additional $100 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $199.99.

“JUST DO IT”- Adam Sandler
Wasn’t aware this phone model was Rev A capable. Sounds like it has an entirely new chipset as all Curves up to now have been Rev 0 capable….or there’s an error in your article.
The bb tour from sprint is an awesome release by sprint since it has an unlocked gsm feature unlike the version from verizon which is locked to the verizon gsm chip. So far sprint has been doing good with phone releases and service. But they need to relase tp2 soon or they are going to start getting behind again. But at the same time, neither att or verizon have released the tp2 so everyone is on the same boat.
@JJ
I think, that the TP2 release, will closely coincide with the updated Mobile 6.5, hence more towards the end of 3Q and about a year after the original TP release date.
Thank You
Inferno is orange? I don’t get it….
BlackBerry Tour is on backorder until the 20th of July. I wonder if I could use my friend’s AT&T SIM in an unactivated Sprint Tour and be able to use local US GSM networks?
Dan, you might be able to since the phones gsm feature is unlocked. Unlike their other world phones that don’t really work with any gsm sim card. I think verizon should unlock theirs but they probably won’t knowing verizon.
