Costco stores have started taking stock of the VM4050, according to readers. Price is $249.99 before any rebates. The phone also includes an additional accessory pack.
It appears that they have screwed up again though, initial reports also indicate the Costco’s VM4050 does not show up as a Vision device on Sprint’s end, and users will have to file trouble tickets with 3G support until someone at Sprint’s ESN database gets the message that they need to fix it.
As indicated above, this isn’t the first time Sprint has screwed up with a Costco phone launch. The Costco phones use a different ESN block, and show in Sprint’s system as a “Costco phone” because they were sold wholesale to Costco. The Samsung A500 & A620/VGA1000 had similar problems, and it too as long as a month to fully resolve the issues regarding Vision provisioning on them.
If you got a VM4050 from Costco, and can’t get it to provision with Vision after 12 hours, call 3G support and get a trouble ticket. The more people that call, the faster it gets fixed…
