Earlier this week, Google quietly enabled sending additional specific types of information to Android smartphones directly from a Google Search box on a desktop browser. The capability is an extension of the “find my phone” capability first rolled out earlier this year and has been expanded to support sending driving directions, setting alarms for events and sending notes to phones from a desktop browser.
The feature is now live on Google and best results are achieved when logged in, in order to select between devices, if necessary. The above image is a test of the note sending functionality to a smartphone.
