IconQ, a manufacturer best known for releasing smartphone accessories such as Bluetooth headsets and speakers has announced the launch of its first branded Android smartphone after dipping its toes into tablet sales last year. Known as the Q5.5, the phone is being pushed by the company as an ideal smartphone that can be used when traveling abroad as well as an inexpensive alternative to buying phones on contract.
Specifications consist of Android KitKat 4.4 (no word on a Lollipop update), a 5.5-inch 720p display, 5.0-megapixel front camera with autofocus and 1080p video capture, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 16GB internal storage with microSD slot, 2GB RAM and an octa-core MediaTek processor with support for Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi N radio and GPS support with a 2200mAh removable battery. The phone is now available for $199.99.
