Verizon has quietly announced plans to launch the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime midrange Android smartphone. The phone was also previously launched by Sprint for prepaid and postpaid customers and features a 4.5-inch display, Snapdragon 400 processor, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash. This version of the phone will ship with Verizon’s Advanced Calling 1.0 feature for VoLTE support, and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat, but will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop shortly after launch. The phone will be launched on Thursday, February 26th online for $29.99 with new two-year activation. The smartphone will be $8 a month on Verizon Edge for eligible customers.
