Cable shopping network QVC has begun to list the yet to be announced Virgin Mobile variant of the HTC Desire 816 mid-range Android smartphone. The smartphone is currently being offered as a pre-order for $199.95, with advance orders shipping on August 8th.
The Desire 816 will replace the previous Desire 610 in the current Virgin Mobile lineup and will be an appropriate upgrade, with a 5.5-inch 720p touch display, front facing 5.0 megapixel camera with front-facing BoomSound speakers underpinned by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB of RAM and Android KitKat 4.4.2 with 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD slot. The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel main camera with an LED flash, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi radio, FM radio, and NFC support along with support for Sprint Spark and HD Voice.
As the phone will be shipping later this week for QVC purchases, the phone is also expected to be officially announced this week, with Virgin Mobile selling the 610 for $149.99 until enough stock is cleared to list the 816 online through Virgin Mobile.
