Verizon Wireless has announced its selection of Firethorn Holdings as its partner in providing mobile banking services to Verizon customers by way of a mobile application provided by Firethorn with complete support for conducting transactions such as balance transfers, balance inquiries, and other new functions such as point of sale payments, loyalty point redemption, and gift card reloading.
The first financial institutions to support this new application will be Wachovia, SunTrust, Regions, Bancorp, and Synovus with others to be named at a later date.
