T-Mobile Confirms April 24th Launch for HTC One At $149.99 (Updated)

T-Mobile’s Twitter account dedicated to customer help has inadvertently confirmed that the carrier would launch the HTC One next Wednesday for a down payment of $1499.99, with monthly installments of $24.99 for 2 years as part of its Simple Choice handset financing program.

While the new program is not a service agreement in the direct sense, if the phone is not paid for completely during the financing term or paid for in full, the phone will remain locked to T-Mobile until the financing term is completed or the phone is paid for in full.

The HTC One as carried by T-Mobile will also support its nascent LTE network, which currently spans 7 markets (Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, Washington, D.C.) and will be expanded throughout the year.

The HTC One joins the year old Samsung Galaxy Note II and more recent BlackBerry Z10 as the carrier’s first LTE compatible models in its lineup and features the following specifications and key features:

• HTC BlinkFeed™ – a bold new experience that transforms the home screen into a single live stream of personally relevant information, such as social updates, entertainment and lifestyle updates, and news and photos with immersive images so the user no longer needs separate applications to find out what’s happening. HTC BlinkFeed aggregates the newest content from relevant and interesting sources, giving it to users at a glance, all in one place, without the need to jump between multiple applications and websites.

• HTC UltraPixel Camera with HTC Zoe™ mode – a new feature bringing photos to life showing more personality and emotion than a still photo ever could. HTC Zoe mode gives users the ability to shoot high-resolution HTC Zoe highlights that come to life in three-second snippets. HTC Zoe highlights are then displayed in a unique way in the new gallery, transforming the traditional photo gallery of still images into a motion gallery of memories.

• HTC BoomSound™ – front-facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier and an amazing full high-definition display that brings users closer to their music, videos, games and YouTube™. Beats Audio™ integration is enabled across the entire experience for rich, authentic sound. The HTC One also boasts a 4.7-inch, full-HD 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor and Near Field Communications support (NFC) to round out specifications.

Update: T-Mobile has officially announced the April 24th release date and has amended the initial down payment with monthly installments, which will now equal $630 for the 16GB version.
