Apple has officially announced that their browser (on both Mac and iPhone), Safari, will be available for Windows XP and Vista. At WWDC, Apple officially kicked off the beta, which will be available shortly from apple.com/safari. The web browser has been benchmarked and outpaced both Internet Explorer and Firefox in standard web tests (iBench).
We’ve known about Safari for Windows for awhile now, and as a quick pre-release, pre-beta review… it’s amazing!
Update: Apple has issued a security update for the Windows version of Safari 3 Beta. Existing users can download the update by running Apple Software Update, or simply re-downloading the beta.
Apple has also noted that Windows users have downloaded the Safari 3.0 beta over one million times in the first 48 hours of being offered.
