Following yesterday’s executive shuffle, HP has once again announced the forthcoming launch of the HP TouchPad 4G* destined for AT&T’s HSPA+ data network and not its LTE network. The TouchPad 4G* will feature an upgraded 1.5GHz single-core processor from the 1.2GHz unit found in the Wi-Fi version but is otherwise identical to the aforementioned version with 512MB of DDR2 memory, 9.7-inch capacitive display at XGA (1024 x 768) resolution with an oleophobic (germ resistant) Gorilla Glass front, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and dual-band 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radio. Pricing and launch details still have yet to be determined for this model despite a previous announcement.
Sidebar: HP really need to get their act together. Two announcements for the same product in the same month with no concrete details is bad form, smacks of desperation and does the opposite of build anticipation for the device. Also the 4G asterisks are back.
