Motorola has announced the forthcoming launch of the long-rumored Motorola Droid Pro on Verizon with a unique extended bar formfactor owing to its widescreen display and portrait keyboard.
The device features a 3.1-inch touch display, dual-mode CDMA/GSM radio, 1GHz processor, 4GB internal storage, 5.0 megapixel camera with DVD resolution video capture, 3G hotspot support, DLNA streaming, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth with stereo audio support and Android 2.2. For business users, QuickOffice is installed and includes remote wipe and AuthenTec IPSec multi-headed VPN integration, along with device and SD card encryption coming early next year in an update. Availability is set for the first week of November with pricing yet to be confirmed.
