Despite Sprint press releases claiming that they would be the first to launch the Treo 700p, Verizon has beat them to it. The Treo 700p can now be ordered from VerizonWireless.com and carries a price of $499.99 with new two-year agreement. The Sprint version of the device is still expected to launch later this month for $100 less, at $399.99 with new two-year agreement.

Update: Forum members have noted that while Verizon has launched the Treo 700p first, Palm expects the Sprint version to ship to customers before the Verizon units ship. Sprint’s ETA is currently about one week, while Verizon’s is three to four weeks.
