Microsoft has once again quietly updated the Twitter functionality on the Kin series of devices, adding inline image preview from image links and in the Online section of the Pictures/Camera application with pinch to zoom support for full screen images. Other changes also include select Twitter replies appearing in the Comments feed although image uploads, replies and retweets to Twitter still do not function, while the firmware build number (2814.0) is still the same as when first launched.
There is still no word on when the first major update, previously announced after the discontinuation of the platform will be rolled out. In related news, the number of unique Kin users registering devices on Facebook has increased by 800 to 10,500 users likely as a result of Verizon’s efforts to clear out remaining devices.
