Casio has added the officially unannounced Casio Gz’One Brigade for Verizon to its dedicated portal. The Brigade is the first messaging and multimedia device from the manufacturer that is also M810 certified for resistance to shock, dust, water and extreme temperatures.
Technical specifications consist of EVDO Rev. A support, QWERTY keyboard, 2.9 inch wide display at WQVGA resolution, dedicated messaging keys, text to speech, document viewer supporting Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, PDF and TXT documents, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, Bestshot photo selection with six total modes available and face detection.
The rest of the specifications include Clear talk noise reduction and voice recording, speakerphone, GPS support via VZNavigator, microSDHC expansion slot VCAST Music/Video support and Bluetooth with stereo audio support. Verizon customers have also been reporting limited availability of the phone in corporate stores, though the phone is currently unavailable for online purchase at this time.
Update: Casio has pulled the product page for the Brigade for the time being.
Update 2: A follow-up article provides Casio’s explanation for the pulled pages.
Its not so much limited availability, it seems more like they changed their mind on the release the last minute this morning. Both the Casio phone websites had information about it up, and now its off of them. The people that bought them, got in before the clamp down.
What an extremely annoying thing to do…Thanks Verizon…you certainly are the tops. Now, where is that middle finger emoticon? 😉
I am in support of Craig’s post stating that Verizon “changed their mind”. I think something leaked or was let out too early for their distribution to keep up so they shut it down to stop the flames from hitting their corporate office.
They really blew on this whole ordeal, wasn’t it supposed to be realeased last year if im not mistaken?
Pathetic, as usual verizon… so I guess no Brigade now, after the whole data plan being mandatory (see face book) and now you can’t even release a phone… What did ya screw up this time?
Oh yea the press release doh!
