Carriers rise, carriers merger. AT&T Wireless has an open, all cash bid out for it by Cingular Wireless. The merger of the nations second and third largest carriers would make CinguT&T (or whatever it will end up being named) the largest carrier in the United States. It would also bump Sprint up to third largest carrier status.
Rest assured, Sprint PCS still has the largest all digital network in the country…
