HTC One V
Following the confirmation of its release later this year at Mobile World Congress, the first details on pricing for the Virgin Mobile variant of the HTC One V has been confirmed and will fall inline with current subsidy rates at $199.99 when its released within the next two months.
As previously reported, the One V will feature Android 4.0 / Sense 4.0, Beats Audio integration, a dual-core Qualcomm S2 Snapdragon processor, 5.0 megapixel main camera and can also capture still images while recording video without disturbing the video capture process via HTC’s Video Pic functionality, and a 3.7-inch display at 480 x 800 resolution along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and aGPS radios and support for microSD cards. In an interesting design choice which harkens back to its transitional design language shortly after its relaunch as a dedicated manufacturer, the One V will feature the distinctive “chin” which was found on many of its first and second generation Android smartphones.
Virgin Mobile currently carries the HTC Wildfire S which has lower-tier specs in comparison to the One V with a smaller 3.2 inch display, 600MHz processor, 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth and microSD slot for $179.99, while the One V will represent a $20 increase for the latest version of Android and improved hardware in comparison to the outdated and maligned Motorola Triumph. Its current lineup is slowly beiing refreshed with the latest release in the Alcatel Venture, which was released last Thursday for $99.99 and marks the first Alcatel handset for Virgin Mobile after the handset distributor’s previous attempts to gain traction in the US.
