Verizon is currently rolling out Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for the Pantech Perception. The 432 MB update features the usual additions to Jelly Bean such as Google Now support and new widgets along with full support for NFC and additional features such as Project Butter among other improvements and fixes. Verizon Wireless has yet to post the complete changelog.
Verizon Wireless released the phone in April initially with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and confirmed that the update would be released in a timely manner. With the release of the update within two months of its initial release, Verizon Wireless has kept its initial promise for a timely update, although the version of Jelly Bean is still behind the most current version, in 4.2.2.
