Verizon has officially announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to the 2013b Motorola Droid line today with the rollout being completed in waves. The update adds the following functionality to the smartphone line:
- new full-screen mode
- color emoji support
- improved closed captioning support
- stronger security
- smarter power use
- more tools and capabilities for better app development
The update also includes the improvements to camera functionality first found in the latest Nexus 5 updates in improved low-light image capture, noise reduction and now adds touch focusing. Google Hangouts is now integrated along with updates to other integrated apps including the following:
- Verizon Mobile Security (updated)
- Verizon Tones (updated)
- Amazon Kindle, Audible (updated)
- Quick Office (updated)
- Motorola Assist (updated)
- Google Photos (integrated)
- NFL MOBILE 8.2.3 (integrated)
- SSO client version 3.1.15 (integrated)
