Verizon Officially Announces LG Dare, Decoy, and Chocolate 3

In a press release today, Verizon Wireless has announced the pending launch of the trio of long awaited LG handsets, one of which will launch next week.

The first handset from LG to be available on Verizon will be the LG VX8610 Decoy slider scheduled for release next Tuesday.

The phone features an included Bluetooth headset which is designed as a part of the handset which also uses the phone’s battery to charge when not in use, on top of a QVGA display, trackball navigation, VCAST Music and Video support, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, and speakerphone.

Verizon has not confirmed pricing on the slider but as we previously reported, the phone is expected to launch for $229.99 before an additional $50 mail-in rebate bringing the total to $179.99.

The LG Dare is the CDMA variant of the LG PRADA minus the branding and features a WQVGA resolution display, full support for VCAST Music and Video, microSDHC slot, 3.2 megapixel camera with video recorder, landscape support, and dynamic lighting adjustment for ideal image composition in low light conditions with a photo editor tool on the device, along with upload support to social networking sites.

Verizon has not confirmed availability of the multimedia device stating further information will be available this month, although previous reports point to a release during July 4th for online orders with a retail launch later in the month.

The last phone to get announced is the LG Chocolate 3, the replacement for the current revised Chocolate model.

The clamshell features a touch sensitive metallic scrollwheel with external media player controls, 1GB of internal memory, microSDHC expansion slot, FM trasmitter for wireless handsfree listening through a car or home stereo, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, and Bluetooth with stereo audio support.

The clamshell has been delayed from its former release date of June 24th to early July for online and retail availability.

Is it just me, or are VZW and LG in bed together? LOL. LG VX8610 looks like a cool enough phone, but I’m not so sure about the built-in headset. I’ve never been a fan of any of LG’s BT Headsets… but the thing that concerns me is that it charges off of the phones battery. I wonder how much of a drain that will have if it’s constantly charging another Lithium Ion battery?

The Chocolate 3 looks like a varient of Sprint’s Fuzic & Muzic Lgs.
