Card processing solutions developer Verifone has launched its PAYware Mobile credit card processing system for the iPhone 3G and 3G S.
The system allows merchants to accept credit card payments while mobile consisting of the PAYware Mobile app and hardware sleeve for accepting credit cards with included stylus for signature capture.
The system also allows add-on fees such as state sales tax and gratuity. The sleeve is free with a $49 activation fee for the service and a 2 year agreement with merchant fees for each sale, which can be as low as 2% per transaction depending on the rate negotiated with Verifone at the time of registration.
Will this be a world wide release or only a available for US businesses?
I’m an Aussie and this would be very good for my sales team to do the transaction then and there on their iPhone rather than lugging around a laptop or accepting cheques.
This is just for the US right now. It is awesome.
Does Verafone have a wireless battery operated card reader available? I am not interested in using the reader as a mobile purchasing system. Any ideas who at Verafone I can talk to.
Any chance Payware will be available for current Google 3G phones?
