T608 Faulty Real Time Clocks?

By Christopher Price on February 27, 2004

It appears that a large amount of SonyEricsson T608s may be defective. Running the Real Time Clock service test (Dial ##786 > Menu Key > Add Number > Menu Softkey > Service Screen > Service Tests > Real Time Clock) shows that the T608 fails… a lot. Multiple T608s tested have shown the test to […]

AT&T: Trial Upgrade Program for 1900 MHz-Only Phones Launched

By Christopher Price on February 24, 2004

Update 2: Apparently to qualify you simply need to use the T68i, you don’t even need to have the IMEI swapped on the account to get the T226 upgraded. Just drop the SIM in your old T68i and if you qualify you will get a letter in the mail. Update: AT&T and Sony Ericsson have […]

Phones Section Updated *Updated*

By Christopher Price on February 11, 2004

Update: OTA theme downloading has been established, though it will not be available until tomorrow. Until then I have uploaded three more themes (the ones that come with the phone; Fire, Earth & Metal, as they are erased in a ##786 reset)… T608 Themes Section has been added to the T608 page. Currently listing ten […]

New T608 Application: Mistake or Sick Joke?

By Christopher Price on February 4, 2004

Sprint today posted a new Application for purchase from the Vision store, and it is available for T608 owners. It’s the AP Newswire’s Pictures and Newsfeed program. The problem? They posted the Spanish version and omitted the English one! The English version has been out for weeks (for other phones), but the Spanish version has […]

Sony Ericsson Regains Seat In Top 5 Handset Sales

By Christopher Price on August 4, 2003

According to IDC’s Worldwide Handset QView, Sony Ericsson beat out LG as the #5 seller of handsets last quarter, Nokia still has the largest market-share. Thanks to PhoneScoop.com for the report.

Metro PCS Testing Sony Ericsson T606

By Christopher Price on August 4, 2003

I’m getting unconfirmed reports that MetroPCS is currently testing the SonyEricsson T606. They go as far as to say that it will be an exclusive phone. That’s not good news, as MetroPCS has extremely spotty coverage, and currently no internet services (though they are CDMA2000 1x-RTT, so they may launch them with this phone).

From MobileTracker

By Christopher Price on July 31, 2003

Just saw this posted on Mobile Tracker: Still no T608 “Despite a ton of chatter, the T608 is still not on the market. MobileTracker took a lot of heat from Sony Ericsson fans for declaring the phone KIA, even though the company stated it axed the North American CDMA unit in financial reports.” “Sources continue […]

CNet.com Posts Sony Ericsson T608

By Christopher Price on July 29, 2003

Update: CNet has pulled the T608 from their “upcoming reviews” section, but the listed page is still live. This could mean that they pulled it due to the uncertain release, or that they have will not be making a review for it (as I would be suprised if they didn’t get a review copy – […]

More Bad News

By Christopher Price on July 26, 2003

Update 2: The T608’s User Guide can still be directly downloaded from Sprint. More indication that this was just meant to block “early” orders. Update: Because of this, you can no longer view the accessories from SprintPCS.com as the two databases are linked. —————————- The T608 has been removed from activate.sprintpcs.com as well. The image […]

Sprint PCS Sony Ericsson T608 Product Page Removed

By Christopher Price on July 26, 2003

Update 2: Kurt has apparently pulled the page. A copy of it is available here for historical purposes only (and to see the 3D model). Update: The edited order page by Kurt no longer works for ordering the phone. No items show up in the cart when you attempt to add it. The silver lining […]
