T-Mobile has confirmed that selected phones in its lineup will receive software and firmware updates that will enable the long-awaited coverage expansion afforded by its deployment of 700Mhz spectrum for LTE coverage in selected markets. Currently, the only phones and devices that can take immediate advantage of the 700Mhz LTE band, otherwise known as Band 12, are the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, the Z915 LTE 4G hotspot and two tablets in the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
The additional devices confirmed that will receive future updates for 700Mhz LTE support include the Motorola Nexus 6, followed by the Sony Xperia Z3 and Samsung Galaxy Avant in May, and the ZTE Max later this year, with more devices to be confirmed.
