As expected, T-Mobile has launched the highly-anticipated Samsung Memoir which is the first carrier-branded high-end cameraphone available in the US.
The phone features quadband GSM/EDGE and single band HSDPA data access, a WQVGA resolution display with the TouchWiz user interface and a virtual QWERTY keyboard with haptic feedback, proximity sensor and accelerometer, microSDHC expansion slot, media player, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, and GPS support.
In keeping with the imaging focus of the Memoir, the phone features an 8.0 megapixel CMOS camera with xenon flash, blink detection, face detection, anti-shake to reduce blur, and geo-tagging on top of 60fps video recording, TV output, and onboard image editing.
The phone is now available for $499.99 on FlexPay or $299.99 after new 2 year agreement before an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $249.99.
