As expected, T-Mobile has launched the Garmin-Asus Garminfone. The device features Android 1.6 overlaid with Garmin’s own user interface commonly seen on its standalone GPS devices along with 3G support, capacitive touch display, Bluetooth 2.1 with stereo audio support, Wi-Fi radio, HTML Web browser with pinch-to-zoom support and a 3.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and digital zoom. The device packaging also includes a dock for dash mounting.
Pricing is set at $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, with Even More Plus pricing set at $449.99, or 20 monthly payments of $22.50 sans interest.
will this phone be upgradeable to android 2.1?
Looks promising but without a decent android os there’s no point in getting this phone when you can get an android phone with better android version that offers just as good navigation program. 199 is too much for this phone.
