T-Mobile has halted upgrade sales of the recently refreshed T-Mobile myTouch 3G with built-in 3.5mm headphone jack due to lack of inventory, according to an internal employee bulletin.
The carrier has also confirmed that it expects another shipment, in the middle of next month, and suggests that any customers call ahead to retail stores if looking they are to upgrade to the model.
The handset will be placed back on the upgrade program once the new shipment is received.
The myTouch 3G was heavily criticized for lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack, and instead original units shipped with a 2.5mm jack. Apple’s iPhone has shown most consumers prefer a headphone-friendly 3.5mm jack, instead of the 2.5mm jack that was previously used on the vast majority of phones.
