Following in the footsteps of Verizon Wireless with their Verizon Home Phone Connect service, Sprint has quietly confirmed via fact sheet that it is preparing its own identical service under the Sprint Phone Connect brand, right down to the same base station sourced from PCD. The idea behind the Sprint Home Connect service is to provide home phone service using the same mobile network at drastically reduced rates compared to entrenched landline service providers, with the same level of service.
The dedicated Sprint Phone Connect plan offers unlimited local and long-distance calling on network and allows consolidation of phone services into one single bill. Other key features include number port compatibility, Caller ID (phone number only), Call Waiting, Three-Way Calling and Voicemail Notification with E911 support via A-GPS for emergency call services.
Pricing and availability have yet to be announced for home users, while business customers will be able to order the service beginning on August 11th as part of the new Sprint Biz 360 service offering, which combines custom tailored options for small businesses looking to consolidate communications services under one plan.
