Sprint is set to launch its version of the Samsung Galaxy S II in the Samsung Epic Touch 4G tomorrow night during Samsung’s rescheduled press event for the official US launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II.
Now, new information has surfaced that along with the launch, Sprint will fall in line with the other carriers and raise its early termination fee for smartphones, tablets and other “advanced devices” to $350 on the same day that the Epic Touch 4G is set to launch, which is set for September 9th. Sprint’s statement to PhoneNews.com on the ETF increase follows at the continue reading link, but makes no mention of the Epic Touch 4G.
Beginning September 9, Sprint is introducing a new pro-rated policy for early termination fees (ETFs) for customers who purchase advanced devices such as smartphones, tablets, notebooks and netbooks. Customers with these advanced devices will be subject to a $350 ETF (which will be pro-rated based on the number of months remaining) should they decide to cancel service before the end of their service agreement. The evolution of wireless devices has created a significant cost structure disparity between feature phones and Advanced Devices. Sprint’s ability to offer great service and device pricing, as well as affordable pricing plans on Advanced Devices warrants the new ETF tier to help Sprint recover its costs from customers who terminate prior to completing their Service Agreement term.
Sprint just as well change their name to AT&T. They’re becoming just as horrible.

Hmm its funny that the iPhone is mentioned and etf rates increase. Soon they will switch to tiered data. It’s only a matter of time.
