Sprint has officially announced the pending release of the BlackBerry 8130 in a press release today.
The device is a major improvement over the original Pearl by featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2.0 megapixel camera with zoom and video recorder, QVGA display, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo audio support, microSD expansion slot with SDHC support for cards larger than 4GB, voice dialing and voice control, GPS support with both assisted, simultaneous, and autonomous modes with both the built-in GPS receiver and the A-GPS module along with support for both Sprint Navigation and BlackBerry Maps for real-time directions.
The device also features support for Sprint Power Vision services such as the On Demand news and information service, Sprint TV, and the Sprint Music Store, making it the second smart device to have Music Store support.
The device is scheduled for a November release according to Sprint, and an information page has been launched for customers to register their email address and be notified of availability and pricing.
