Sprint late yesterday released the UTStarcom CDM-105. This phone will serve as Sprint’s new entry-level voice-only phone, and has a full retail price of $149.99. The CDM-105 features a speakerphone and a “Crisp 1.13″ x 1″ CSTN color display”.
The CDM-105 is also the first UTStarcom/Audiovox phone to carry the UTStarcom brand on the visible portions of the device. Previous Audiovox phones were sold and serviced under the Sprint brand, however, since customers must now send phones to the manufacturer for service (unless a customer adds ESRP to their account), the phone will have the UTStarcom brand on it. Sprint’s only reference to UTStarcom in promoting this device (and others that follow it) will be on the logo on the phone however.
