Following the Sprint Developer’s Conference, CEO Dan Hesse has affirmed that Sprint will stay with WiMax as its 4G platform of choice, following months of speculation and previous comments that alluded to a future transition to LTE for both Sprint and Clearwire. However, Hesse did hint that the carrier is entertaining the idea of dual-mode WiMax/LTE devices should such a network be rolled out on top of the current WiMax network, when asked about Clearwire’s recent LTE tests.
Where’s the thanking jet to poo poo on all things Sprint and WiMax? To complain about a WiMax tax when not in an area or because the sounding board for the same complaints about phone restrictions is no longer there.
