Sprint has officially announced a wide release date for the hotly anticipated HTC Touch Pro.
The device will launch on October 26th first to third-party channels such as Best Buy, Radio Shack, and other authorized dealers. Â Sprint will then launch the device on November 2nd for $299.99 after new 2 year agreement and $100 mail-in rebate with the addition of a data pack priced at $25 or higher.
The device is a near carbon copy of the Touch Diamond with the replacement of the internal memory for the microSDHC expansion slot, sliding hardware QWERTY keyboard, and business card capture application which utilizes the 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera.
The complete featureset consists of a 2.8 inch VGA display, Wi-Fi radio, GPS support with Sprint Navigation and GPS transceiver, TouchFLO 3D, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, accelerometer, voice control, Â and TV out support with speakerphone.
Phone looks awesome. I don’t know why they don’t just leave the 4gb memory in it and keep the micro sd card. The Pro looks better than the regular touch. Does the Regular touch have the accelerometer?
Yes. I love using it to play the game Teeter on the Diamond.
If I had to guess, the Touch Pro is aimed more at business users.
This would explain the removal of the 4gb internal memory…at least in my mind.
I do have to say that it is getting a hefty advantage over the Touch Diamond
It gets:
QWERTY keyboard
TV out
Both are huge features in my opinion. I can’t think of any smartphone that actually had TV-out. The advantage? This phone comes with powerpoint viewer built-in. You could now use this phone as a mobile presenter. No laptop required
