Sprint Announces More Major WiMax Market Launches

Sprint has announced another round of WiMax rollouts planned for this year, which include major markets and more cities.

The new markets slated for rollout this year include Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C along with other confirmed markets and cities that Sprint refused to disclose at this time.

Sprint offers WiMax service through laptop dongles and its Overdrive router, with a service plan at $60 that includes 3G/4G access.

    Are there any exact dates? I read somewhere last week that Houston is going to get WiMax in a few weeks, but I don’t know whether that is a pure speculation or not. I am anxious to get Overdrive for 4G use, but would like to wait until WiMax comes to the city 🙂
